Software Help:

Q: Windows "Smart Screen" tells me it protected me when I try to run your software. Did I download a virus?

A: In the case of our software: absolutely not! We're not in the business of infecting people with software we've spent years building and selling. Click the "More Info" link on the Smartscreen popup and a "Run Anyway" button will appear that will let you use our software. This is Microsoft enforcing a pay-to-play hoop for developers to jump through that we're still in the processing of jumping through. Any program that a developer hasn't jumped through hoops to sign cryptographically will cause Windows to show this alert - which means they've only raised the barrier for entry for aspiring developers the world over.

 

Q: Why does my browser/operating system/antivirus alert me that a file I've downloaded from you is dangerous?

A: There is no malware to be concerned about as long as you've downloaded the file(s) directly from our website. We are working on acquiring a code-signing certificate in order to eliminate these alerts and warnings.

 

Q: I am trying to do ... and can't figure it out, what should I do?

A: You can check out our YouTube channel where we post tutorial and how-to videos, or email us at support@deftware.org with your questions and we'll be glad to help. We are working on setting up a new public forum/messageboard where we and everyone else can help each other.

 

Product Keys:

Q: Can I use my product key to activate the software on more than one computer?

A: Yes, but the key will be invalidated if it is used too many times!

Q: Why is the program running as a free trial after I activated it?

A: If the software is run as a different user or after a system hardware upgrade it will need to be re-activated using the product key for that computer user or system hardware configuration.

Q: What happens if I lose my product key?

A: You will need to be able to prove ownership either by contacting us via the email address you used to make the sale or by verifying the payment method details and we will re-send you your product key.
